Laurel berries

My next door neighbours laurel bushes have grown into trees !! and are full of beautiful blue/black berries , which now are dropping all over my lawn and garden -- aarrrgh !!!!!

Beautiful shot. They look like grapes. Are they edible? if they are its a pity the neighbours don't collect before they drop.

The berries can be a nuisance Beryl I don't know if the birds eat them they make a nice contrast against the shiny green leaves.

@sangwann Not edible Dione , and are poisonous to dogs , but Alfie has never shown any interest in them !

@craftymeg I believe they are poisonous as I was told they are poisonous to dogs , but fortunately Alfie has never shown any interest in them but it is still a niggle at the back of my mind ! When the new neighbour came to live there as she has 3 dogs ,she was going to cut down the Laurels !!! (that was over 2yrs ago !! ) I can not see it happening now to my disappointment !!

These are poisoness I think, I wouldn't like them in my garden although they do look pretty! I have never seen Laurel berries before!

I once had a similar problem with a neighbours tree, so I politely informed them that I was going to cut off the overhanging branches and return them. This I did and have done so several times since. Maybe your neighbour isn't aware of the trouble their bushes are causing.
