I had to pop into town today on one or two errands , including to the jewellers as I had two pieces of jewellery in need of repair . The safety chain on my gold fancy gate bracelet had broken and for a while I thought I had lost it It has a sentimental value as it was a long service gift from the county when I took retirement from teaching !and my other chain bracelet needed a new clasp on it ! -- I didn't realise how expensive these things would cost to be repaired !! . Oouch !!!
Oops, very expensive, I’ve been there, a diamond went missing out of my mother’s ring, I couldn’t leave it so I nearly had to take a mortgage out to pay for it!!
Yes expensive but better than lying in a drawer & never worn! Love to see your street shot, looks pretty much like our local high streets. Christmas is appearing!
@busylady -- this is going back to the 1990's Judith - you had a token to go to a certain Jewellers or camera shop -- I think they stopped this very soon as 2 years later my friend and colleague did not receive anything from the county !- and she had been in Shropshire all her teaching life without a break !
Lovely street capture and the decorations are up. I think we are living in the past with prices sometimes not realising how much they have all gone up but it will be great to get them repaired and wear them again.
@koalagardens The high street is a car / traffic free zone during shopping hours , the street is not very wide -- so it is much more pedestrian friendly !!
