Christmas has started in earnest . I have just packed the parcels that have to be posted ! and I have written most of the cards that I post . Later today I shall go down to the local Post Office a to post all these . then onto the supermarket to do my weekly shop !
PS- any one noticed that all my tools are to the left of the picture -- a clue that I am left handed !!
Well done. I have sent my parcels, but the cards are still to be written. I just need a day at home. That won't happen until Saturday though. Hope I can get them all written in the one day because we are out on Sunday and Monday.
Wish I was as far along in this process as you are. I do have the first draft of my yearly Christmas letter written but that is it. Oh, and I'm a lefty too.
@quietpurplehaze - A lot of the scissors are duel handed these days -- thank goodness but U have a couple of left-handed scissors and my dressmaking scissors are left handed ! I suppose I am ambidextrous but my strength is in my left hand and certainly my writing is left handed !
How wicked it was when children, some of them dyslexic, were made to write with the 'wrong' hand. I'll never forget one of my adult students telling me that the teacher tied his hand behind his back.
@quietpurplehaze My maternal grandmother was left handed and she as achild in school was made to wright with her right hand with her heft hand tied behind her back -- the teachers were barbaric in those days -- my grandmother was quite ambidextrous but continued to right left handed ! thank goodness things had changed before my time in school !
Well done, Beryl. I've only done my foreign country cards, hope to get on with them this weekend, although Emmanuel arrives from Birmingham tomorrow and Rosie lands at Heathrow on Sunday night, so a busy time ahead. At least I've nearly finished wrapping presents.
@carolmw So your Christmas comes early with the family arriving home !! Once I have had my birthday ( 5th Dec) I like to organise my Christmas and have time to space myself out ! -- I just can not rush last minute ! Good luck Carol !:)
I'm all done too, posted my last today, cards gone & all parcels to foreign parts. Interested to see that strange looking tool that looks like a stepladder with the red end. I have no idea what that is!
@happypat Doesn't it feel good to have the mundane jobs done and dusted . Once Gary has been up to the attic ,we shall start with the decorations ! And then there will be time to relax and enjoy the days before Christmas !
The tool you see is a parcel tape holder -- the reel of sticky tape is on the holder and you roll it over the joint of paper on the parcel to seal it ! So much easier than getting yourself tangled in sticky tape !!
@beryl well I need one of them I think! Too late for this year but I must look out for one! I'm away for a night this weekend but when I come back shall put the tree up.
