My lace-cap is full of bloom this year (so pretty ) Last year it hardly flowered - which I think was due to my heavy handed pruning !! So this year I have treated it gently and given it an early spring feed . -- and it has done the trick !
these are lovely and I think you have finally solved why my lace-cap hasn't ever fared so well once I did a hard pruning - all my others love a good cut back!
Beautiful! I had the same problem last year when I cut all my hydrangeas back hard and ended up with no flowers. This year I didn’t cut back and have been feeding and I have a wonderful display of all my different hydrangeas.
It's beautiful to see this up close - sometimes you don't notice how intricate it is from far away. The touch of contrasting lilac is lovely with the pink.
