The demolition of the Ironbridge Cooling Towers 06-12-2019
Not my photos , but I arranged these in a collage to remember this day . I feel rather sad in seeing this landmark demolished , especially as my late husband worked with the civil engineering company when they were built . Now a whole new village will be built on the site over the next 15 years ! At least in this case they are going to build on brown land and not green land ,
A big day in your area Beryl, the whole skyline must have changed! Progress I suppose but rather sad in theory! You have a very poignant reason to be sad too & of course always houses waiting to be built on any spare piece of land.
This is sad. I Know how you feel. My late husband planted about 200 trees on our piece of land from 1983. They are all dying now because of the drought. Somehow I do have to deal with it....
Nicely arranged collage. If it weren't part of your 'heritage' and your late husband's story, I would say 'good riddance' but, on the other hand, if it finishes up as a jungle of apartment blocks than better these furnaces.
Nice collage. I like your arrangement. These look like the ones around here at nuclear power plants. I find them a bit unnerving because there are always evacuation routes from them in case anything goes wrong.
