Calendula (marigold)seed-head

The marigolds still keep giving - not only with their cheerful flowers but also their interesting seed heads , now ready to ripen and planted _ I usually let them self seed for next year's plants . Why interfere when they are quite capable to manage by themselves !!!
Lovely

A great idea Beryl. Your method seems to work well. Much cooler today after yesterdays heavy rain.

They are prolific bloomers. The seeds will cover your ground with plants very quickly. Lovely shot

How nice that they seem to keep giving pleasure for you and your garden even without any help from humans.

Absolutely, what a great idea! I have a friend who grew sunflowers form her birdseed! They are just flowering now and provide such a cheerful sight in her front garden.

I love all the greens in this shot, Beryl, and the perfect shapes. As others have mentioned, I have never seen (or noticed) marigold seed-heads before, so thank you for this photo. And, yes, your (non)planting plan sounds good.
