This is interesting…

Picasso does have another major claim to fame at the museum.

Until 1971, no living artist's work had been shown in the Louvre
that honor was reserved for the dearly departed

However that changed that October 1971
when a selection of Picasso's pieces went on display in the museum's ‘Grande Galerie’
to celebrate the artist's 90th birthday.

Talk about living history…
