Day 143 - I have had the best day ever today! for Christmas my husband got me a bird-of-prey experience, where I learnt all about different birds, watch them fly and got to handle some. This handsome boy is a Peregrine Lanner Falcon hybrid, known as a Perilanner, a term used by falconers to describe a hybrid between a peregrine falcon and a lanner falcon. It is larger and faster than a lanner, but does not fly as far as a peregrine, and thus is less likely to fly far away and become lost.
Wow! Fabulous shot and also fabulous Christmas present! Thank you for including the information about the Peregrine Lanner Falcon hybrid in your narrative! So interesting! I'd love to see one of these birds up close like this. :-)
@chrisiow He was a lovely bird and flew so fast, but he did keep eyeing everyone up! @louannwarren I love watching birds of prey and wish I could have one for myself! @suzanne234 He certainly was, they were all magnificent even the recued raven they had, even though they didn't fly him! @ludwigsdiana It was a very enjoyable day, we spent the whole day there even after the experience had finished as there were flying displays on throughout the day. @carole_sandford As we've been together for 38 years we always try and find something a bit different for each other, I bought my husband an off road driving experience! @gaylewood I'd never heard of one before yesterday, these animal parks are such a great source for information.
