Special Thanks to the Friendly Rochesterian

I was shooting High Falls from the pedestrian bridge over the Genesee River. (see the photo here A stranger walked up and said ‘there’s a nice mist from the falls for your photograph’. He then told me that around 9:00 a.m. you can see a rainbow from the observation deck. I told him I’m new to Rochester, where’s the observation deck? He pointed it out to me. He also told me how I can get to it from the bridge.

This has been my type of experience in Rochester so far. On my first bus ride in the city, I was compelled to call the RTS customer service department to tell them how helpful the bus driver was.
Awesome capture. Always nice to run in to people that will help you.

Do you know anything about the building behind the falls? Looks interesting.

I'm glad you are finding friendly there too. I do miss it! Nice capture. If you get a chance to see Honeoye Falls and take a pic, please tag me. :-)

This looks like a charming place. I've found, wherever I travel, that people are mostly kind, if you give them a chance to be.

You sure are enjoying becoming a Rochesterian yourself! When you get to the public library, be sure to look up a friendly librarian named Adrienne.

@dyanstevens I was on the Kelby World Wide Photo Walk today and inadvertently walked on the other side of the building. There were posters with some history of the falls and water power, the building was named: the Gorsline building. Here's some history on the building:

I've only been to the outskirts of Rochester since my son moved to western NY. I had no idea it had a waterfall! So are you in both NY and Canada? I'm confused! haha Nothing new! Nice shot- the photo walk sounds really good.

@olivetreeann I'm in Rochester, and we have three waterfalls on the Genesee River. High, Lower and Middle. The middle is now just a dam for RG&E. Lower Falls is larger than High Falls.
