This statue depicts Mrs Booth who was famously Turner’s landlady and subsequent lover. They lived together as Mr and Mrs Booth in Margate. The statue is in the style of the shell souvenir figures that can be bought at local gift shops. The site of house where they lived is now covered by the Turner Contemporary Gallery.
