Ken's surgery was yesterday. It went well but he is experiencing a lot of pain. Appreciate continued prayers for him! I took this photo when at the hospital cafeteria. A long walk from his room and not especially worthwhile. π I think the bear sculpture is to recognize U of M's mascot, the Grizzlies.
Many thanks for your kind comments and favs. All are most appreciated!
Good to hear from you, Barb! I haven't wanted to bother you, but I have been thinking of you and Ken every day. So glad to hear that the surgery went well! I hope Ken's pain subsides soon. Take good care. And sending you both much love and strength! xo (As for your photo, yes the bear sculpture is curious. And I see that you have just a couple of patches of snow, unlike us here!)
Being back and posting again only recently, I hadn't realized your Ken had had back surgery. Since your posting here a week ago, I hope he's feeling a change toward improvement! I will hold him in my prayers as I know how very important it is to have men like Ken (and Ken) in our lives! Aside, I do like that sculpture, the dark blue down to icy-cold feet!, very much!
I'm glad to hear Ken's surgery went well and I pray he'll continue to improve by the hour. Hospital food can be hit or miss- but at least it won't effect Ken's improvement!

He was in such agonizing pain today that they had to give him morphine (!) on top of oxycodone tonight. I'm praying that he didn't undo the fusion in his lower back, as I was told this morning that he had slipped off the edge of his bed earlier. Would hate to learn that he would have to go back into surgery and have an even more prolonged recovery time. He is very discouraged and in constant pain. I was down in Missoula the last three nights to be present as Ken was moved from hospital to a nearby rehab facility. So far, it hasn't been a positive move... :-( I had to leave and come home for the weekend and it was very difficult leaving knowing that Ken is hurting so badly that he said he wants to die!! We have been married nearly 59 years and I am definitely not ready to bid him goodbye!
Oh Barb, I just read your update and I'm so sorry Ken is having so much pain. I hope he turns a corner soon and begins to feel better. Please take care of yourself, too.
Barb, I'm so sorry to hear that Ken is suffering in such pain. Sending lots of positive thoughts that he will feel better with each new day. My heart goes out to you and Ken.
@bjywamer Thank you for this latest update, Barb! This sounds just horrible- for both of you! I really hope that Ken's pain becomes more tolerable. I can't imagine what he's experiencing! Sending love and strength for you both- a double, even a triple dose! xoxo
Take care and stay strong.
