I took this photo of Ken and Scout a week or so ago. Scout is still proving to be a good companion for us and for our other dog, Trapper. As you can see, he is a cuddler. 😊 He often jumps onto our bed and lays his head on my pillow when I am getting Ken settled down for the night. LOL
Well, for those if you who may have wondered how Ken is doing by now, I can report that he is still wheelchair bound. But...he has just recently switched to receiving physical therapy through a young man at the VA clinic in Missoula. The gals he was seeing elsewhere had both told him he would never be walking again! Very disheartening, as you can imagine! So, our back surgeon's office referred us to the VA facility, saying that those gals should never have told Ken that! The switchover is proving to be a positive one. We really like Evan! He is the first person in all these last months since December that has identified that the weakness is not in Ken's legs but in his hips. So, he says that's where he'll be focusing to bring back strength. Also, he already has Ken walking between parallel bars every visit. No one else has ever even suggested trying that!
Anyway, thanks to each of you who have continued to pray for Ken. Don't stop! Still a long road ahead but we are finally hopeful of light at the end of the tunnel!
Many thanks for your kind comments and favs. All are very much appreciated!
It's really good to see Ken, and this is such a lovely photo, Barb! Ken looks so happy with Scout, who is a cutie! Thank you so much for this update on Ken! Evan sounds wonderful!!! This is sounding very good, Barb! Hugs and love to both of you! xoxo
Love this photo! Ken looks so happy to have Scout on his lap. I was wondering how Ken was doing, so I'm glad to hear that the new physical therapist is working out. The best of luck to Ken as he works with him. And you take care, too, Barb.
Thanks for sharing Ken's smile and Scout. So glad that you have a ray of hope and some positive PT experiences. Sounds like Evan is a good match. Good thoughts continue for both of you
How very encouraging Barb….it only takes someone to look on the positive side & encourage ….it can change the whole outlook. Ken looks very happy here & Scout is a happy addition to your household. Well done Evan……you must be very hopeful….thank goodness. Slow but positive! 🙏🏻🤞🏻
