The bison was my college's mascot but it had been and still is ages since they roamed in that area. I remember reading accounts of how there used to be so many in the Plains states. It's a shame that no one understood conservation at the time and believed they'd replenish themselves even with the hunting going on. All that being said, it must be a sight to see one like this.
