This book, published in 1930, was given to me when I was very young by my grandmother on my mom's side. I remembered that my mom had told me it was written by a distant relative. Some research today on Ancestry.com and on Find-A-Grave led me to the discovery that the relative was a 1st cousin 2x removed who passed away in 1986. Sadly, this man (Neil Wayne Northey) had only one son who died months before his sixth birthday. I think I will read it again for old times sake.
@mittens Thank you, Marilyn! I hadn't taken this book off the shelf (well, it was actually in a box with many other books for years until recently) until yesterday when I was unsuccessfully hunting for anything orange to photograph. So glad I did, as it led me to learn more about distantly-related family members. :-)
