Valour Place opened yesterday here in Edmonton. This military facility was built to provide a place for the families of Soldiers and front line responders who are facing surgery, rehabilitation etc... This is a 12 room building that allows family members to be together with their loved one at a time that is very difficult and stressfull for all involved.
So here is to all of the heroes that deserve top quality care for all they do fo us
what a great idea! when my nephew was shot in Iraq, he was flow to DC...the Marines flew my sister and her husband back and put them in a hotel, but it was unfamiliar to be driving especially in a stressful situation. And they didn't want to leave him alone anyway. A place like this would have been amazing for them. (he is recovered now...minus a finger but still has shrapnel in his legs but thankful to be alive)
Glad they are getting things like this done. The military has generally given good support to its soldiers and their families. This is like a Ronald McDonald house idea as I understand it?
Well said. Have stayed in accommodation in Birmingham where relatives of wounded soldiers from Afghanistan often stay. QE is now the hospital most heavily involved in these tragic cases. When you see the cases close up it is so different to reading of yet another statistic.
beautiful how you took this shot, with the poles intersecting exactly through the points of the triangles. great composition. and yes, here's to the brave men and women of our military.
