So today like so many of us our thoughts are with the city of London.
I know that the city will not let the tragic events of Wednesday defeat them.
This a picture that hangs on our dining room wall
Lovely image and lovely thoughts. London has been through this and worse before and will recover very quickly and go about it's business as if nothing had happened but perhaps with a bit more vigilance (for a while).
This is lovely, thank you. To be truthful, I felt a little more vulnerable yesterday as I walked around London but it didn't stop me going in. I lived through the IRA campaign and had very close shaves at times then and although this is different in style, I won't stay at home and cower. I'll keep on living, I'll keep on loving. Courage is not the lack of fear. It is being scared but doing it anyway. We will hold on to courage as best we can. Thanks for your solidarity, it is hugely appreciated.
There are still a few of these telephone boxes around in key areas. The are kept there as historic pieces. Yes, all our hearts are with the Londoners at this time.
Beautiful tribute to a beautiful city. The world is thinking of you during this tragic time and admiring your will to not let this kind of senseless horror change your lives.
Very beautiful image and thank you. I wasn't in the city on Monday but I was so sad and so shocked that this happened and watching it all on the news the last few days. My heart goes out to those who died and their families and to all the people who were injured too. But being British, we will carry on. At many of the tube stations now there are wipe boards where the staff often write a different daily message to motivate or cheer passengers up.. On one it said "All terrorists are politely reminded that THIS IS LONDON and whatever you do to us we drink tea and jolly well carry on. Thank you."
Lovely thoughts Brian, we all need to be so vigilant these days but we won't be beaten. We all stick together! So sorry for all those that died, it makes us so sad when you see all the details of lives cut short. Won't keep me out of London!!
As our French compatriots understandably reel in horror, there is never a safer place to be on the days after an attack...than the place where the attack took place. Security operates at zenith level, plain clothes police abound. Take heart. 'Screw your courage to the sticking place'. Lady Macbeth, Macbeth.
Your image has certainly struck a chord here. Thank you fisrtly for taking an iconic image of our city home with you, and now using it as a tribute to our tagedy.
I missed the news, but I'm sure I can figure out what happened. This is very thoughtful and in reading the comments, it's always a bonus to see how 365 folks rally around and support one another. Nicely done Brian!
