Lord Strathcona

Located close to the totem pole, yesterday's pic, this a statue of Donald Alexander Smith Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal.
He lived from 1820-1914. He was Governor of Hudson Bay, President of Bank of Montreal, Member of Parliament, Founding member of the Canadian Pacific Railroad, High Commisioner to Great Britain and founder of Strathcona's Horse
This statue was erected in 2000 to honour the officers and soldiers in Lord Strathcona's Horse for 100 years of service
