Ross Block by bkbinthecity

Ross Block

The Ross Block was built in 1894 by W E Ross. It was South Edmonton's first hardware store. In 1897 the upper floor was converted into a meeting hall. Later it houses Edmonton's Masonic Lodge.
Overtime the upper floor was converted into apartments. Over the years the ground floor housed a feed store, a restaurant, a clothing store and a nightclub.
Today it is home to an art store
Lovely in sunlight. I wonder if W E Ross was Scottish - Ross is a very familiar surname in my home area. (Ross-shire)
