After World War One the Canadian Government developed a plan to assist returning veterans to be able to buy or build a home.
This is the McTaggart House. It was built in 1922 by John Lawson Haight. After being released from a POW Camp he moved to Edmonton and took training to become a teacher. He married a young piano teacher. They had three children and lived here for three years .
In 1925 the McTaggart family moved in and lived here for 52 years
