From Runway to Walkway

Edmonton's City Center Airport shut down in 2013. The city developed a plan to turn the area into a beautiful neighborhood. The development has started. It has a way to go but l decided to go and have a look at what has happened so far.
The city has preserved the old Control Tower and a portion of one of the old runways. They turned it into a lovely walkway

Great image and the story is interesting. I like the caption, too. You might be interested that there is a similar development at Messestadt Riem in the eastern part of Munich.
