flag

Saw this on the way to Essex at Gants Hill.

The world cup starts on Friday, and although I have no time for footie, its been kinda nice to see more flags being waved and displayed in England, houses and cars all over.
Apart from state buildings and hotels, I rarely see a union jack anymore, and its a shame in a way. When I travel abroad there's often flags around so I wonder what the diference is?

Edit: As much as I hate to quote the sun, perhaps the PC brigade dont help..

Interesting capture - nicely placed bit of colour against that grey. I've seen loads of England flags but not so many Union Jacks - see my elephant by the way ...

Thanks for the nice comments - Union Jack is Chelsea way - in Pimlico Road I think just opposite Bloomfield Terrace.

selective coloring works perfectly here. would've missed the flag if you didn't do it.

Hm, I guess we have to carry home a lot of beer and chips. Survival food ;-D
Good colouring, good picture.

I really like this use of selective colouring as it does add impact to the pic. It also empasizes a part of British culture that now appears marginalised or hidden.
