Gales on the dales

Wind withered tree in limestone fields on Twistleton Scar End, Yorkshire Dales. Went for a walk yesterday afternoon and the wind nearly blew us away :-)
..this could be some arid desert-scape - feels isolated yet peaceful.

@sleepdozer57 It was amazing up there, exactly what you said, isolated yet peaceful. Wanna go again but with warmer clothes!

Really bleak, effective shot - yes probably have been here - it's near Ingleton where we stayed on a walking weekend many moons ago.

@islawight Thats right! There is also Malham Cove that looks really similar nearby (where filmed Harry Potter scene) - I wonder if you went there too?

@blightygal - ah yes Malham - isn't that where Gordale Scar is? I remember doing that even more moons back with a friend who said I might have to 'climb' a bit - I thought she meant it would be steep - but she meant 'climb'! And some unknown bloke had to get his hands under my backside to shove me up to the top I was so useless!

@islawight Lol, thats funny!! I hope he was gorgeous tho, he he. Yeah, Gordale is at Malham too, we've not been yet, but said yesterday we'd go back soon, weather permitting. So pretty around there isnt it?

Stunning, how amazing that windswept tree is. I am impressed by the tenacity of trees like this who manage to keep their roots in the ground despite the obvious wind.
