I come to this website for inspiration, and not for adding pictures.
And, the pictures are beautiful..
but, I see Dalia's picture here, has over 30 favs.. while Lauren's picture has 20?
(Please don't get me wrong! Both pictures are in my favorites, but maybe I don't get how this works?)
Can someone enlighten me? Are they like the themes? Chosen by someone, or by the number of favs? or comments?

@alexleech: the top 20 is based not just on the number of faves, but also on the number of views, and comments, and other things that no one except Ross knows. :D

Alex, Ross has indicated that he has developed an algorithm that is applied against all pictures. My guess is that Teresa is right in that number of favs, views, and comments count in the mix. Just remember this is about popularity and not artistic merit. There are hundreds of photos that could have been included. Stay true to your vision of what your project is.

@15johnpatrick @alexleech I agree. This is STRONGLY based on popularity. John, your last comment is so true. and Alex, I think the reason my photo is higher on this list has to do with it being more recently added. I added it YESTERDAY and it just happened to be popular...at least thats my guess. Like everyone else said... we dont really understand everything that the algorithm takes into consideration when determining the top 20.... thanks for the fav though!! sorry I can't explain for a fact what the reason is.
