Weekly Theme - Body Parts

by bilbaroo on Nov 27th 2018

In relation to last week's theme, we want to celebrate all the amazing things we (or any species) can do physically, with the theme 'body-parts'.

From delicate toes and fingers of newborns, to a lifetime of stories and wisdom in laughter lines and crows feet, there is something special and emotive about photographing different body parts, no matter how old or young we are!

This is because body language and facial expressions are two of the most powerful ways to communicate with one another, and even to different species, and vice versa.

Different body parts also allow us to do some pretty awesome things, whether it's running for miles on end, jumping into the sky, writing a special letter or knitting a new scarf.

It can be overwhelming taking portrait or figurative photographs so perhaps this theme will give you a little nudge outside of your comfort zone - besides, we know how rewarding it is to look back on photos of friends, family and pets years down the line!

Have fun - we can't wait to see your entries!

How to enter this week's theme

When uploading your photos use the tag section (on the edit/organise screen) and insert this week's theme tag: theme-body-parts. (Don't forget the hyphen!)

Entry Guidelines: Photos must be your own and must have been taken and uploaded from Tuesday 27th November until the following Sunday (6 days). 5 finalists will be chosen on the Monday evening (PST), then you get to vote for the winner.

Winner of the '5050' theme

As always, we'd like to thank everyone for voting - we're thrilled to crown @365karly1 as the winner of the 5050 theme!

We expect the 365 community has swiftly moved a trip to Montana a little higher up on their travel lists this week! Not only is the landscape naturally stunning, @365karly1 has used clever composition and the use of lighting to create something truly magical!

The perspective of the camera looking down the river bank makes us feel like we're there in person, breathing in the fresh alpine air. We also love how original this shot is, using the natural divide between shade and sunlight, with the valley's river and reflections creating a bold division between the two. Beautiful!

Vote for the 'Living' theme winner

Thanks for submitting so many wonderful photos. We had a blast looking through all of your entries, and finally settled on just five finalists for the living theme!

To cast your vote, just reply to this blog post with the number (in digit form) of the photo you would like to see win.
