Veggie garden

Well, I hope that I planted enough greens to get hubby and I through the winter in case a civil war breaks out.

The secretary of state just said that they are planning for a smooth transition for a "second Trump term." I fear that America will go into full cluster-f*ck mode come January.

Why can't America just be normal anymore?

Seriously, he just needs to concede. The election is over.

You've worked hard in your garden! I am optimistic that president elect Biden will be in the White House January 20th.

well protected, do you have cabbage white butterflies over there?
November 11th, 2020
@kali66 do they eat cabbage? I can't grow anything in the cauliflower category, so I haven't seen those. My biggest culprit is aphids, but I don't really have to deal with them in winter.

the caterpillars of cabbage whites eat all brassica family plants, they will be starting here soon, but i dont try to grow broccoli etc until autumn

Will a one party system be better?

Garden looks great.

looks good, little tents,

That's so great that you can grow vegetables through the winter! I can't grow vegetables at all. 1) the soil is terrible here and 2) the critters think a garden is their personal buffet even when I spray it (with natural stuff)!

This is a really impressive "victory garden." Fingers crossed this craziness comes to an end. Getting a little scared for our country!!

That's good thinking however things come about. Just praying for the best.

@kali66 the one good thing about growing a veggie garden in phx is that the main season occurs when most bugs are dormant. My biggest problems are birds and ants when I initially plant the seeds.

@byrdlip Sure! The Green Party!!

How wonderful that you can grow your own vegies, hope that things will calm down and you do not have to worry about having enough.
November 11th, 2020
Good to see you are stocking up just in case.

Your garden looks great! I just hope that you will enjoy your veggies, but that there is will be no civil war - just a transition (preferable relatively smooth)

Love your green garden. Great idea under any circumstances. It's a crazy world at the moment.
November 11th, 2020
oh please stay safe - the garden will be both food and a focus
November 11th, 2020
looks like you've put plenty of hard work into that garden, hopefully the situation won't need it.
November 11th, 2020
That’s a great garden, although I’m guessing you’re not a patron of Four Seasons Total Landscaping

You have quite the crop there.

He's Machiavellian - he's been planning this for at least a year... the signs are all there if you look back, including appointing his biggest donator as head of the UPS!
November 11th, 2020
@vignouse 100% correct. The list is long how he tried to line his ducks up in a row.

Beautiful green garden. It's terrible, but I hope the safeguards against insanity are strong enough.
November 12th, 2020
@kali66 Yes, she would have Cabbage Whites in her area. https://bugguide.net/node/view/3259
See the Food and the Data tabs.

He does need to put on his big-boy pants and concede this election. But he is who he is so it probably will never happen; it's not in his brand. What's astonishing and discouraging is that 70+ million voted for him and a continuation of his clown show.

Outdoor growing, jealous, seriously jealous. My lone pepper plant (indoor raised and babied) doesn't look as though it will produce any peppers.

About the cluster F- I too am worried.
