Arrow weed (Pluchea sericea)

It always amazes me how the Native Americans knew how to use all the plants in the desert. They used this plant to make shafts for arrows because of its long, straight stems. It was also used medicinally as an antidiarrheal and eyewash. Other traditional uses include thatching and food, especially the edible root.
Beautiful shot and fascinating info. I'd prefer to take herbs over prescription drugs any day.

Interesting - I've wondered about that too, all of the medicinal plants we know about and use at some point had to be discovered and tested.
