The UN General Assembly met in New York the week we were there, and we got to witness the colossal muck up it did to traffic on a daily basis.
The meeting was supposed to address pressing challenges such as climate change, poverty and inequality, while also tackling the impacts of ongoing conflicts and global health crises. Call me skeptical, but I highly doubt they made any progress considering they all arrived in private jets and rode around in multi-car motorcades.
I doubt they achieved anything either. Having served with the UN, in 1995 in Bosnia, I have zero respect for anything they purport to do; the UN is morally bankrupt.
