peach faced lovebirds by blueberry1222

peach faced lovebirds

I've been getting quite a few peach faced lovebirds flying around the neighborhood lately. Here's a photo of them hanging out in a palm tree (nearby - not my tree. I wish!!) The birds are native to Africa. They got accidently released in Phoenix sometime in the 90s and the flocks keep growing. They apparently don't compete with native birds, so even though they are an invasive species, they're not doing any noticeable damage (so the authorities say!) Gosh, they are so cute!!!

They're pretty birds. I'm glad that they are not endangering the native species.
