Strawberries

The best of a bad bunch I'm afraid....and no more time to play but for a first attempt I'm not too displeased. The theory is simple, the practice only a little less so but as for getting the whole to come together...snow storms in the Sahara might be more frequent!

Thanks for your comments and favs from the past couple of days, they're always very welcome :)

TWO....
Fabulous shot. Red against black is always a winner. But this has the white as well. Beautifully lit. The exif data shows your exposure time was 10 secs. So how is it so sharp? Did you use a flash at some point? It's quite a cheerful picture.....

Goodness if that's your first attempt I'd say you were pretty successful. Really like the shot.

@medusa @jo13 Thank you both :)
Diana - I had the camera set to 'bulb' in manual mode so it will only record an image for the duration of the flash if the room is in darkness.
The full sdequence is - wipe water from sides of fish tank, pick up fruit in left hand, turn off light so garage - sorry, so studio, is in darkness, press shutter release, grope for flash test button with right hand, attempt to co-ordinate dropping fruit with firing flash, press shutter release again, try not to knock anything over in the darkness, turn on light, check the image on the camera screen, supress disappointment, repeat ad nauseum! Nowt to it ;)

Nice job! The red is so striking against the black.

@bluefirebucket Aw, thanks Mike. I can't try this one then, as I don't have the required garage. So sad......... :(

Great shot Mick. Isn't digital photography brilliant, can you imagine trying this kind of shot years ago with your trusty film camera!

LOL!!! Thank you for that indepth description of how to create this shot.... I think I will pass for the moment. I must tell you I am completely impressed not only with the capture, but the determination you show in getting it!

Jo
Very striking, they look like they are entering the water at high speed.

Great idea! Love the commentary above and the apparent motion is captured so well!

Nice technique, fantastic black background. I am thinking of another way: multiple continuous shooting mode with multiple flash synchronization -- if your camera has these features.

Tell everyone to view it large. It comes to life then. +F
