The secret of getting ahead is getting started
Sally Berger
When it gets cold outside I always get the urge to dust off the sewing maching and start dreaming of making a beautiful quilt. Then I drag out all my quilting magazines, bolts of fabric & thread....then I usually come to my senses and put it all away to do another day! :)
Well I, for one, would love to see a photo of the dream quilt. So get cracking next time, Paula! But a lovely shot of your procrastinating ways, just the same.
What beautiful colors and shiny threads!!! I just love the depth of field, the spools, and the idea of getting going on a project...but I know what you mean about actually DOING it!!! :)
@joshwindswept@lynnmwatson@stephd@girlie@pink123 I've had a terrible time coming up with something for the blue theme this week, it's definitely the hardest one yet for me so I really appreciate all your very nice comments! :)
@barbsmith@peggysirk Thank you Barb & Peggy, I don't always put everything away but I do have to be in the right frame of mind to commit to making a quilt since it's not something that goes together quickly (for me anyway)! I actually finished a big Halloween quilt this fall so occasionally I follow through! :)
@individuality_a@jonna@juhlin@bruni@cindylouhoo77 Thanks so much guys for all the lovely comments, it's so much fun to read them! :) Bruni, I've finished quite a few quilts over the years but only a couple bed size quilts. I have better luck finishing baby & lap quilts and wall hangings....not such a huge time commitment on these smaller ones and more likely I'll actually complete them!
I must have misunderstood. happy for you...I used to sew. made most of my children's clothing in those days. a few dresses for myself as well but once I started selling real estate I was too busy and now that I'm retired I rather spend the time on the computer.
@bruni I used to sew more when the kids were little....Halloween costumes every year and then caught the quilting bug but these days I'm easily distracted and don't sew very much any more. I used to do it more before the computer came along! :)
I love these threads! The colours are amazing! I'm not a quilter, but I knit and I'm a sucker for nice threads. I'm like you with finishing projects, I always start with lots of enthusiasm but it's always hard to finish. Actually, you make me restart one of my projects.
nice sharp focus, lovely colours and great sentiment. I'm a quilter so I know what you mean, dreaming is the best part, fabric shopping comes next and completing seems so unnecssary :)
I find it interesting that so many of us on 365 are hobbyists in so many other areas. I love anything creative but haven't given quilting a go get. On my 'to do' list. Nice shot!
