Went for a walk along the nature trail late this afternoon and before it was even dark I looked up & noticed the crescent moon peeking through the tree branches; I tried several shots and tried to hold the camera steady while I took the picture but that was easier said than done! Not as sharp as I'd like but with no tripod in sight this is the best of the bunch!
I really love this!!! The sky has some shades of color swirled into the gray blue that are really lovely, and the moon through the trees is stunning!!! A fav...
@jgoodridge@blackdogs@bpizzo@molizard Thanks so much for your nice comments. Actually I was surprised I was able to salvage any of the moon shots....by the time I got around to shooting these my fingers were frozen stiff so I could barely press the shutter release! Ah what we go through to get a picture for the day! :)
@jonna Thank you Jonna! :) The sunset was really colorful last night, unfortunately the light was fading fast when I took this shot but there was just enough color left to give me a little hint of purple in the picture.
Great shot Paula I have tried to get a good shot of the moon on many occasions but never come close to this. Must be the framing of the trees and branches that has made it!
That turned out great for not having a tripod!! Those are hard shots to take. I can just imagine you holding your breath and trying as hard as you can not to move. Been there done that. Great shot, it's so pretty!!
@cccoupland Thank you Chris! The branches were making my life really difficult because they were everywhere making it nearly impossible to focus on the moon without them always getting in the way!
@lynnmwatson@dmortega@maggie2 Thank you if I wasn't such a wimp I'd set up my tripod and take a proper moonshot one of these nights but it's going to have to warm up a LOT before I do that!
I have made portfolios on moon pictures in the past. The only reason I think this is better than ANY moon picture I've taken EVER is how well the moon can be seen against such a light background. I am very jealous.
