This picture was taken at the same golf course I shot pictures of the geese and Robins this morning. When I went by again this afternoon on my way to pick Joey up from school I looked over and see the flock of geese had returned but sitting right in the middle of them was this HUGE white bird. I figured it was a Snow Goose but after importing the pictures I'm pretty sure it's a Swan. Of course the pond was on the opposite side of the road so I had to do a U-turn, fumble for my camera and get out so I could get closer but as soon as I started walking towards them they took flight. I really wish I could win the lottery so I could afford a longer lens!! This picture does NOT do this gorgeous bird justice.:)
Still and all it really captured the excitement and action of the moment. Next time I go to England in June I vow to get a good swan shot. I always get the colors wrong. I love the way your swan is taking flight.
Thank you all for your comments I really appreciate each and every one of them. As I stated on my other picture of this bird in another album, I was insanely excited when I spotted this swan and was falling all over myself trying to get the shot. I'm truly amazed that I got even one useable picture ot of the bunch. It was a beautiful bird and not something I've ever seen before. We always have lots of geese and ducks but swans...not so much! :)
