When a Cyclone approaches, everyone needs to seek refuge in a safe place, often in the smallest room without large windows. This is invariably the bathroom or toilet. Imagine my surprise when I went to hunker down for the storm to find ol' Freddo here had beaten me to it.
What is he in? and how many frogs do you have in your flat and how is it down there with that Cyclone??? I have been thinking about all of you down there... Stay safe!!
@catheniale - photoshop is a wonderful tool... LOL!
@wendyperry365 - there are heaps of frogs here... too many to count, but this is the first guy to appear in our toilet... I'm glad I turned on the light before I sat down!!!!
@robynelizabeth - like waiting for a traincrash Robyn! I hope you are safe, where you are.
@emeraldboots - Thanks Jill, like Robyn says, it is all about the wait now. I feel really sick in my stomach with the anxiety, it is not a pleasant experience! Just remember, DO NOT WATCH commercial television when you are in this situation, they just go on and on and on about the end of the world!
@bobfoto oh so true about the watching of commercial tv.. relatives down south all get the wrong idea as well, and start to worry, before anything has even happened.
yeah we are all safe.. in Pimlico.. nothing else we can do but wait till tonight. hope you are all safe too.
@bobfoto Awww...I hate that when the TV does that...it is the same here in the States. Just turn it off and enjoy the photos on 365 while you can. I am positive you will be fine...so where are you now?
@emeraldboots - no too much dirt under my house... I live in not a typical North Queensland dwelling up on poles, but my place is a conventional brick home. I'm hoping the three little pigs got it right tonight!
@wendyperry365 - oky doky. Currently some real rain is falling, getting a bit wet out there, and the wind is getting stronger. The barometer is falling too!
Jason I feel really anxious for you all up there. I have a brother in law, his wife and 3 little kids in Cairns and they are still there. I hope you are safe where you are. All of Australia is watching and hoping that you all stay safe. I hope to see you on here again tomorrow with an update xoxo
@murnane - thanks Marg, your family in Cairns should be better off as the Northern side of our cyclones are generally the "better" side... less rain and wind... sorta. I hope they have a safe place to bunker down in.
Love this shot; have been telling 365ers for sometime about how the green tree frogs get into the dunnies here.
Do hope you're okay, Jason. Have many friends and relatives in Cairns and Townsville and now count you as one of them. Stay safe. Know what it's like waiting for these to hit but this is a really big one...
Do they crawl up thru the drains or do they somehow manage to hop around in your house and find a toilet? :s I just don't know how I'd react to seeing something like that.. I know you're going to do your best to stay safe, but I'll say it again.. You and yours stay safe, Sir..
I also thought he was under glass until I read...oh my!! That is one BIG frog! One of my fears is sitting down and something being in the toilet (TMI?) Oh this gives me the heebie geevies ;p I just looked again...I would go into cardiac arrest for sure!!
Oh dear sorry! Thank you for your prayers Roe, but can you speak up, no-one seems to be listening. This storm is now in its 9th hour of wind and rain.... maybe another 9 to go?
@tesia@lmasinton - Thank you Tesia and Lael, it is still very windy here and we are safe in our humble home. I hope and pray that those closer to the eye of the storm are okay today as the sun is just starting to rise. Well no sun, but it is getting light.
This is awesome Jason. My thoughts are with all of you. I have a few friends on here on the East side of Australia. It seems that you've had enough bad weather for a while.
This is hysterical! You're an animal beacon! And if your TV weathermen are anything like ours, they LIVE for a storm like this! It's the pinnacle of their career! Beautiful frog! Where did he get relocated to, the shower?
@ajspook - the wonders of photoshop, every advertising editor uses that tool to brighten and whiten. Even teeth!
@petersonsheri - I hope you are right Sheri, Mother Nature was well pissed off with someone of late!
@aj1268 - On the teev, they are clowns, they should have been strung up to a Palm Tree last night! And the frog was relocated to a puddle outside, where he's meant to be!
This is so funny! Poor thing just wants somewhere to stay with the crazy weather. lol I would have freaked! I love frogs but that would have scared me at first.
And is your toilet really that clean?? I don't think mine is even that white right after I clean it! Maybe it's just too old...
@wendyperry365 - there are heaps of frogs here... too many to count, but this is the first guy to appear in our toilet... I'm glad I turned on the light before I sat down!!!!
@robynelizabeth - like waiting for a traincrash Robyn! I hope you are safe, where you are.

@robynelizabeth - good to hear you are okay Robyn. I must admit, the breeze is quite nice and cool at the moment!!!
@emeraldboots - at home in Townsville. With the frogs and ducks and parrots and spiders and rain.
When this blows over I'll tell you about me and the green tree frogs in the toilet at Harlacstan...(not good spelling for an ex-resident)
@houdiniem - thank you very much Ms Tull, I appreciate your kind words, on this very dark dark night.
@swilde - its a deal... TC Yasi can depart first and then I will ask.
Do hope you're okay, Jason. Have many friends and relatives in Cairns and Townsville and now count you as one of them. Stay safe. Know what it's like waiting for these to hit but this is a really big one...
@buggus - both I think Oleta. And thank you for your kind words.
Oh dear sorry! Thank you for your prayers Roe, but can you speak up, no-one seems to be listening. This storm is now in its 9th hour of wind and rain.... maybe another 9 to go?
And sorry about the heart there TinaC :)
@lmasinton not sure Lael, either he swam in, or climbed up the outside....
@petersonsheri - I hope you are right Sheri, Mother Nature was well pissed off with someone of late!
@aj1268 - On the teev, they are clowns, they should have been strung up to a Palm Tree last night! And the frog was relocated to a puddle outside, where he's meant to be!

I was gonna flush the frog! It is really funny watching them swim around!
i like this.
@glendq - Thanks Glendq :)
