Isurava Moon by bobfoto

Isurava Moon

Oh man... this place can go from gorgeous crazy lovely to "fuckme I can't believe the horror"....

AGGGGHHHH!

Papua New Guinea has to be close to the most beautiful, most ugly, most wonderful, most brutal country in the Pacific. This shot of the Moon setting over Isurava at 6am is dedicated to all of those who have been fucked, robbed, raped, beaten, and assaulted in bringing peace love and hugs to this country.

i hope the sun is rising for you somewhere.

photo taken 24 may 2008 at Isurava, OP.
i am sorry.

Saddened and completely understanding of the need for such words at times. Glad you and yours are safe, hope that continues. Enjoy your time with the people of PNG. Beautiful moon. :)

@tigerdreamer @luvthyclassics @cheribug @kimmistephens @orangecrush @geocacheking @httpgeffed @swguevin @filsie65 @lyno - Thank you everyone for your kind wishes, and yes, I am safe and well and travelling just nicely. I will stop there... this place has emotions that I don't need to visit often, but I am looking after myself.

I am glad you are well and your words are strong and I love reading them and I dont need to apologize for them, As your shots are from 2008, can I ask, Is this beautiful place at peace?
May 21st, 2012
This is a wonderful moon shot. Take care

Beautiful shot. Rough and raw but your words speak volumes about your heart and soul. If it didn't make you crazy, giddy and despairing you wouldn't have made half the impact on the people there and those of us voyeurs who've been privileged to follow you. At the risk of being fatuous; Chin up, there are those of us with you in mind and spirit if not in body. I have no idea what I could do to help but if you can think of something let me know. Cheers!

:( Beautiful moon shot.
That's a tough spot. There were things that we learned about the culture of some of the tribes there that I was going to ask you about, but it seems you've answered with this one picture and comment. In some ways I didn't want to ask because you do present this country as such a beautiful, albeit wild at times, place. Sending hugs.

*finishing thought* And I didn't want anyone to judge by asking questions that would have them generalizing about the people that live there.
