Of course I got a photo of Sister Roslyn! She didn't keep still though and shuffled around in her thongs (footware Americans, check her feet!).
Our night with the Sister in the mission was such a fun experience, as a grown up man, I felt like I was back in school again on camp without a torch (flashlight). The simple fact that high up in the mountains behind Madang, stands such an amazing building with wonderful hosts is amazeballs! Even some of the expensive hotels in PNG could learn a lesson about hospitality from the Catholics. It's not about how wide the teev is, or how many channels are pumped in by cable, or how free the free Martinis are (actually, the free Martinis at Airways is kinda nice) but its all about shelter, and warmth and care, and smiling, and saying a quiet prayer before dinner... I mean, I need all the prayers I can get, so if Sister Roslyn wants to wish me good health and safe travels then sure, I'll resist from eating for a few seconds longer. Its all good.
lovely to see the photo of the good lady, however, yesterday you told me "wait until tomorrow's chapter" in relation to the desire to throttle Ken - is that yet to come, or did you change your mind on that tale?
This american is old enough to still think of thongs as shoes instead of what they later became known for which I am sure is a direct result of how the thong looked on the foot in the first place!
Great shot of Sister Roslyn. I like the contrast with the jungle in the background. Beautiful color and great composition, Jason!
@grammyn - Thanks Katy, I think Sister Roslyn created the composition, she really couldn't stand still!
@rvwalker - Thanks Ross. I felt at ease in her care.
@tthompsonca - I don't have much to do with the church, but spending the time with Sister Roslyn, I kinda got the idea why a bright intelligent, wonderful person like she was, would give up her traditional past and potentially modern future to dedicate herself to God. It was obvious that her beliefs and her convictions were what drove her.
What a beautiful woman inside and out. Love your comment about thongs. I grew up calling those footwear thongs and have since had to change my vocab. :)

@sangwann - Indeed they do Dione.
@doodlerdeb - I think that even if she had appeared without her habit, she would have come across as being a good person.
@angelamartel - She was always working.
@lbmcshutter - yeah once I started saying nice things about Sister Roslyn, I didn't want to spoil it with Ken... so I might post that now.
@gerry - Thanks Gerry!
@archaeofrog - I think you are spot on.
