This was a tough shot for a million reasons. It ended up being a silhouette of my very good friend Jenny against a Volcano background. But with a little work with exposure and shadows, I got something close to add to my Modern Meri collection.
Jenny is wonderful. On this journey she was days away from having a baby and when I visit her and her girls, they all talk about how when the little girl was in mum's belly she travelled to Rabaul when the volcano was really going nuts.
I lost Jenny in the markets.
All the meris had big afros and were wearing meri-blouses and I got concerned that I wouldn't find my pregnant friend again. Luckily we met up at the Citrus part of the market and I didn't let Jenny leave my sight after that.
This shot was taken just before we had dinner together at this really cool resort. I helped out with the bill and Jenny helped out with some great work during the day. She has certainly supported my work in many ways over the years. She is a great Papua New Guinean meri and deserves so much in life.
Bless.

@jantan@swilde@cocobella - Oh Jenny was gorgeous! It was so much fun to fly over to Rabaul with her and threatening he not to have her baby girl while we were in the plane!
@grammyn - same, here I see the old photograph and on my notifications, the newer version. Things will catch up.
@rvwalker - a nicer lady you won't meet. And her kids are fantastic. I sometimes have hope for this country. *sigh*
@shannejw - Thanks Shanne, it was her first visit to Rabaul, so she was pretty keen to go look at the Volcano. A very popular thing for PNGeans to do.
@judithdeacon - yeah, I tried a flash to try and brighten Jenny up a little, and it has kinda made the photo appear as if I have pasted Jenny onto the background!
@agima - Oh yeah.
@snowflakes86 - the best keri blouses (dress) are to be found in Rabaul.
@fauxtography365 - Thanks Ms T :)
@hankbird - you're welcome Henrietta :)
@susale - Volcanos are so cool!
@agentzuckerguss - Oh yeah!
