a scenic portrait I offer. I visited the land of the volcanos again this week and standing under/near the big open hole in the ground with the heat in the air and the sulphur in my nose I chatted to the locals about life, politics and the cost of buying a bride. Bruno Mars, a young lad with a dog named Lucky stole the show with his cheeky smile and hair of blonde. He didn't say much, sung less and was determined to write his name in the ash on my hire car. This is not him in the photo by the way. This was some other little dude just hanging out when I happened to drive away. I waved, he waved, I took this long range shot and he waved again.
Life under the ash.

and the resilient greenery thrives, just like the humans who brave living within the volcano. it must be so hot in there! this little dude, he looks like he's ready for a duel, just give him a gun and someone to duel with.
@summerfield@swilde - I was amazed as to how green it were. Tavurvur must be very quiet of late to allow so much vegetation to thrive. This is the greenest I have seen old Rabaul town.
@kali66 - I once took a shot of a bunch of kids standing on a bus shelter in the middle of a flooded oval and only realised later that one of the little dudes was taking a piss... never posted that one.
