At the festival there is the occasional design that defies tradition and is modernised.
This young lady was waiting and ready for her performance. Backstage across the road and under the shade of a tree, she sat and chatted with her friends and me in preparation.
Photo taken today at Constitutional Park, Port Moresby.
This is what I would call perfect composition. Love how the line of paint stops and the hint of skin peeks out just at the top left and the eyes, the white portion of her face. Then the focus on the texture of the skin with the paint. A really huge fav.
@grammyn - I can imagine how that conversation would have gone.... "excuse me, can you just sit still while I try and focus in on that bug on your neck!"
@bobfoto LOL! I ma sure she would have obliged!
As Much as i would love to stay up and chat with you I am too old to deprive myself of sleep as you do ! I will catch up with you tomorrow! Safe travels!
Great capture. She looks totally focused. Although I love all the colours that other dancers and singers wear this seems to have more impact in its simplicity!
wowza! i go for a long weekend and i miss a masterpiece! :-) i agree about the "proposed" crop so that it almost looks like the size of a face mask. as to her lips, had you taken a profile of the young lady, you would have captured the shape of a perfect heart. great composition on this. i love it.
@darylo - I was thinking I would have liked a touch more of the top of her head? I also like the square thumbnail!
@mikegifford - Cheers Mike, thanks.
@kali66 - often I say the eyes make a portrait, but there is something about her lips here...
@swilde - thanks Sue, she certainly had the beauty of youth on her side.
@grammyn - should have had my macro lens with me?
