Red stems

Non-working day. Starting off quite overcast, but ended up having a few sunny intervals. Perishing cold though. My hands nearly fell off with the cold while cycling today.

Had thought to go on a Rambler's walk - 4 miles - to ease my way back into walking, but in the end decided to stay home and do a few useful bits and pieces. Got up with Dave to put a bread and a wash on then went back to bed to read the paper with an exotic fruit salad - pomegranates and persimmon filched from Anna's and a bit of mango.

After breakfast, cycled to the wetlands shop in search of birthday presents but didn't find anything though was tempted by the 20% off Tatty Devine jewellery. I resisted. Big credit card bill this month obvs.

Irritatingly had forgotten my 'while you were out' post office card so picked that up then cycled to the sorting office to pick up my parcel of secondhand books from new discovery World of Books. Then onto the gift shop where I did find a nice velvet scarf for a present. On to the William Morris Gallery and I picked up a butterfly necklace and William Morris tea towel for my mum's birthday.

Got home to have a bit of chilli salmon for lunch and watch the remaining 2 episodes of the Twin Peaks reboot on the DVD. Dave has given up on it, so needed to watch them and get the disc back to Cinema Paradiso.

Made up a big leek, cabbage and potato soup for later.

Rather irritatingly, when we went to watch the last disc in the Friends series 4 box set, we found it missing. When Ross says Rachel ... and all that.
