Christmas lights on lime tree walk 2010

The lime tree walk linking the town square with the station is lit up with Christmas decorations In recent years, this lime tree avenue has been under threat because of town square developments. It is now safe.

Just couldn't or wouldn't get up this morning - worse as Dave was still off. Weather rather mild and drizzly and the tube was surprisingly busy.

No one else in the team was in and I managed to get through a few things. Treated myself to a Papa Bruno's lunch of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with toast, noticing while I was there that they do in fact do chips.

Only worked till 4.30, then got the tube to Walthamstow Central to meet E and Dave at the cinema to watch Star Wars. Enjoyed it very much, bit of a homage to the original trilogy, with lots of the same lines and plot devices.

I walked back to the house with E and Dave went off to pick up the fish and chips. F and C came back, first time we'd seen them since new year, and I got the chance to ask them about the missing reindeer runner which normally sits on top of the sofabed. Much shenanigans followed with F opening up the sofabed to find the missing reindeer runner squashed underneath it from when he'd used it over new year.

Ella and I had a double gin nightcap - nothing for Dave, he's doing dry January.

Earlier we heard that Iran's top military commander Qasem Soleimani had been killed by a drone strike ordered by Trump. Nothing like a peaceful start to the new year.
