River Lea, Olympic Stadium and ArcelorMittal

A classic view in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on my cycle trek.

No ill effects seemingly from the vaccination - although Dave said he felt just a touch more tired and not up to his jog as usual. I thought I did too but I did cycle a long way and I'm generally unfit anyway and it was quite windy.

Did a cycle from my Waltham Forest Wanders leaflet - Swimmers, Bakers and Olympic Games Makers. A fairly long trek starting at Hollow Ponds - lovely former gravel pits by Whipps Cross - cycling through bits of the village and along the Lea Bridge Road.

Ended up at Orient Way to cycle down to the Olympic Park. There I carried on further than I normally do past the stadium and the Arcelor Mittal and looping onto the Greenway where I found a lovely stall selling cinnamon buns. It would have been rude not too.

Returned home along the Lee Navigation and over the marshes, picking up milk supplies from the International Supermarket.

Mushroom risotto tonight with exotic mushrooms.

Thanks for all the faves and comments on my cycling through the puddles shot from last week.

I just read all the places you went to - and you call yourself unfit?!! No way! :-)
Glad ok after the jab, just pleased you've both had one. Phew! x

@blightygal I was thinking that - I’m exhausted reading the route! Takes me back to happy days watching Adam play hockey at Lea Valley. It’s also the home ground for UAL hockey - ironic given how unsporty UAL is! Adam was once beckoned over by a bloke in 6” stilletos and a full face of slap and asked what on earth he was wearing (sports kit) 😂😂

Nice view of the stadium, but I was always a bit dubious about that Red creation at the time the Olympics were on!

Nicely captured - what a walk you had!

I don’t think unfit would be a word I’d ever use to describe you. What is that red thing anyway?

I walked up the tower when it first opened. Great view.

@kjarn largest piece of public art in the UK or something - was built for the Olympics. It's not just art but has an observation point at the top and a helter skelter slide thing!
