Juliette makes a friend

Another stupidly busy day, not enough time to do anything. But skived off at 4 to head to Tate Britain to meet Juliette to see the 'Another London' photograpy exhibition. There was a bit of confusion as we failed to meet each other, Juliette waiting outside while I'd gone in, exacerbated by the vagaries of text messages and Juliette's knackered BlackBerry.

But once inside, it was well worth seeing - pics of London and Londoners from the early part of the last century to the 70s. A few names - the godlike genius Cartier-Bresson and also Bruce Davidson - but the majority were names unfamiliar to me, but many really exceptional pictures, capturing a London in most cases now gone, or for the 70s pics, distantly remembered. Names to note: Wolfgang Suschitzky, Leonard Freed and Marketa Luskacova - the latter photographing (still today) around Brick Lane.

On the tube home, I was entertained by the chap who wanted to get close to Juliette ...

Our local folk session tonight - not bad if a little poorly attended. Bit of an argy bargy at the end though, when one of the regular guys accused me and some of the others of hogging the session by starting all the tunes ...
