A full-on Christmas shopping day. Headed out fairly early to the South Bank to have a look round the stalls of the German market there. Not half bad, had a bit of mulled wine and licorice and ticked off a fair number of present requirements. Plus got this shot of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben all backlit. As I was shooting, I could hear the gulls squawking away and I was muttering to myself, 'Fly into my shot, fly into my shot' hoping for a little W of flying bird to add interest to my sky - little could I have imagined this whopper would hear me and dramatically swoop into my frame.
Had a nice lunch in Brasserie Blanc before heading up towards Marylebone High Street, one of my fave places to shop. Got gradually busier and more hectic as I neared Oxford St where I had to go in order to stop off at John Lewis. Then headed to Covent Garden for the last bits and bobs. By now, truly exhausted - I managed to walk in the front door about 8.30pm, my legs feeling like jelly. Had to take an aspirin to try and ease the aches. But a productive day.
