The Shadow of the Wind

The book I spent much of yesterday finishing, rereading as I now want to read the other three books that are related to it. Part historical novel, part thriller, part coming of age story and containing stories within stories - it's set in Barcelona just after the civil war.

In 2000 we went to a wedding of friends in Barcelona and fell under its spell. For the next 10 years or so we visited every year, so many of the locations in the novel are familiar.

I've never read this but I often pick it up then put it down again in bookshops (well, I did when we could go to bookshops!!) ... perhaps I should just read it!
