Quicksilver  by boxplayer

Quicksilver

I've been reading this monster of a book since August. I pride myself on never not finishing a book regardless - but this was a trial. Very clever and well-written, a huge universe of a book, sort of historical fantasy. Full of interesting takes on 17th century history and the development of scientific theory and discovery - but just too much to keep track of. Hence I struggled to pick it up to carry on reading it even though I enjoyed what the author was doing with his words whenever I did.

He has two more, equally hefty, in the series. I won't be reading those.

Not a book I know. My daughter was speaking of a challenge….. reading 100 books in a year. However, decided that might be a bit much! Instead we will share titles and encourage each other along the way

Always an achievement to finish such a book. Sounds a fascinating read.

I see that it has really mixed reviews on Goodreads and that it is the first book of a series of 3, will you attempt the next 2?

@kjarn Nope!
