"Fall Asserting Itself After the First Snowfall"

A quick overnight to northeastern Pennsylvania in order to pick up my mother-in-law so that we can bring her to our home for the upcoming week over Thanksgiving. It is her annual visit and the first time that she will be at our new home in New York. We generally expect cooler temperatures but the freshly fallen first snow of the season was a bit unexpected. The fall leaf blowing across the blanket of snow was entertaining enough, like fall trying to hold on tightly to its swiftly diminishing season. [20 November 2016]

"The pure air and dazzling snow belong to things beyond the reach of all personal feeling, almost beyond the reach of life. Yet such things are a part of our life, neither the least noble nor the most terrible."
~ Frederick Soddy

Autumn and Winter in one image - great composition, and really nice 'white' shades of the snow.
