I am saddened when another big maple goes. People get afraid to have these big trees over their homes and have them cut down. Still healthy as all get out! I was sick when I had to cut my Ash out a few years ago, because of disease. I re-planted a Pin Oak in its place. Oh well, to each his own.
I love big trees but I understand that the recent droughts and wet years have played havoc with their health. Sometimes the first signs of trouble are when a tree comes down and crashes into something.
