This is what we're looking forward to when the lake freezes. lots of activities like snowmobiling, para gliding, plain walking on the ice, cross country skying, ice fishing is a great sport here. lots of visitors from the States come for the ice fishing.
:-) I like this one! There is a river here, and during the winter, once it freezes up, the ice fishers make it their home! I always wanted to go inside an ice shanti. Always wanted to know what went on inside them :-) All I can picture is "Grumpy old men".....but I imagine as in hunting, that many of memories are made out on the ice, with the people inside the shanties......
you know, we all miss minnesota, but the cold was hard. we did live in Calgary for 6 winter months before regamer was born. i love the warmth of the people and some of the winter cold, but i don't miss shoveling snow. i guess i could still do it, but we left before i had a winter in the snow after my breast cancer, somehow the shoveling doesn't seem like as much fun now, but i'm sure i could work my way back up to it.
