I wrote a too long excerpt from a google page but when I uploaded this picture it was gone..tried it two times..the same.all I'm going to say now is that I liked to have uploaded this picture for last weeks theme but it didn't fit into the time frame as I took it a long time ago. For anyone interested in the famous Eaton's Centre here in downtown Toronto please google Eaton's Centre. in real short I'm just saying that it is world famous and draws about 52 million visitors a year..the number one spot for tourist in Toronto. the Centre has 230 stores, restaurants, food courts....the sculpture of the geese is called Flight Stop and the artist is Michael Snow. the geese are made of fibreglass and are hanging from the ceiling.
another interesting fact is that the Eaton's Centre is 33 years old and is going to get a 210 million dollar face lift. ..it was founded by Timothy Eaton in the 19th century ..it started out as a small dry good store.it went on to revolutionize retailing in Canada..ultimately becoming the largest chain in the country and the flagship location of the THE BAY department store chain..another interesting factor is that the Eaton's Centre is connected to what we call The Path PATH a 17 miles network of pedestrian tunnels beneath office towers of downtown Toronto. according to Guinness World Records PATH is the largest underground shopping complex ..4 million square feet of retail spaces. all of the above I quoted from a google page.. my daughter and I enjoy going there in the winter time for our exercise walking underground and looking at the stores and at the end we go up to the Eaton's Centre browse around some more have something to eat and then go home.

I like the geese sculpture. How fun to have it in the mall where it can be seen by so many. Interesting about the underground stores. There are areas in the states where they have stores (Atlanta and NYC) but not so big.

Cool shot but a bit scary having all those birds flying over head...guess they cannot do much damage though if they are made of fiberglass! LOL
