Taxco

Pictures from a day trip to Taxco. after bussing back to the Airport where we rented a jeep, we that is my husband then drove us to Taxco. it took us about 3 - 3 1/2 hours. driving was a bit scary at times not on account of the roads as we took a beautiful tollroad ..although we paid a lot more money than we ever did in the States or anywhere else that is but it was worth it. the scary part comes in when there are so many curves with not straight line to pass a slow driver and of course when I get told to look down the steep and deep mountain slopes. ...you pass a lot of shrines on the way for the unfortunate one's that didn't make it home. so these are only pictures from the way there and back later at night.
pictures from the town itself will follow
Looks like you got a lot of cool photos

Cool collage, I've driven the West coast of Mexico and seen many of the shrine memorials on blind curves. I lost 7 pounds on a week trip from gripping the steering wheel so hard and clenching my various sphincters in fear for my life.

Hahaha, the trip I was talking about started in Ciudad Juarez. We drove through Chihuahua to Durango then across to Mazatlan. South from there through Nayarit to Manzanillo, then back Northup the coast to the US at Sonoita. The road you went on was brutal, busses full of people passing trucks full of mangoes going up steep feisty roads, no turnouts meant I hit my brakes and prayed they completed the pass before I got smashed. Scariest driving I've ever done. People would pass others in the worst weather conditions imaginable and always the little shrines with two big crosses and 2-5 oe so small ones. Yikes!!!
